Just booked: The Divine Comedy heads to York venue as part of UK and Ireland tour

Music legend The Divine Comedy – aka Neil Hannon – is coming to York as part of his UK and Ireland tour.

The singer-songwriter will visit York Barbican on Saturday 30 April 2022.

Neil will release a greatest hits album ahead of the tour, titled ‘Charmed Life – The Best Of The Divine Comedy’. It will celebrate The Divine Comedy’s biggest hits – as well as feature some new songs.

The album will be released on 4 February 2022.

The Divine Comedy was founded by Neil Hannon in 1989 – with Neil being the only constant member of the group.

Twelve albums and hundreds of live shows later, Neil is looking forward to getting back on the road.

Neil said: “I am so looking forward to playing live again. The last couple of years have been a reminder of how much it means to me personally. It really is my favourite thing.

“And it seems fitting that we’ll be coming back with a greatest hits set. You know, in case everyone’s forgotten who I am and what we do!”

Tickets go on sale on Friday 10 September at 10am on the York Barbican website.
