HGV driver who died in crash with tractor is named

An inquest has opened into the death of an HGV driver in a crash earlier this month.

Jaroslaw Grzegorz Stadnik, 51, died on Tuesday 9 April in a crash on the B1248 at Wharram Le Street south of Malton.

As YorkMix reported, Mr Stadnik’s red DAF articulated HGV, towing an open flatbed trailer, collided with a green tractor and trailer which was carrying hay at about 11.35am.

Opening the inquest in Northallerton, coroner Jonathan Leach said Mr Stadnik lived on Fletton Road in Norton and was a single man.

The provisional cause of death was traumatic asphyxia.

Location of the crash

Mr Leach adjourned the inquest to a date to be fixed to allow further enquiries to be carried out.
