York Mind have announced the return of it’s much-loved festive fun run, Mental Elf.
The family-friendly 5k event will take place at York Knavesmire on Saturday 29 November, and aims to raise vital funds for mental health support across York.
YorkMix are proud to host this fundraising fun run, and the event is supported by local businesses Spark York, Portakabin, and SeeGreen.

Mental Elf is a 5k run – or walk! – where participants don their best festive fancy dress and come together to support mental health in the community.
Whether you’re an experienced runner or just looking for a joyful way to kick off the holiday season, Mental Elf is the perfect way to get moving for a meaningful cause.
“Mental Elf is more than just a fun run – it’s a celebration of community, resilience, and the importance of looking after our mental wellbeing,” said Freya Flaherty, corporate fundraiser at York Mind.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Spark York, Portakabin, and SeeGreen for helping us bring this event to life.”
All proceeds from the event will go directly to York Mind, helping fund essential services such as counselling, peer support, and mental health education across the city.
Registrations for the fun run are now open, with tickets starting from £10. Sign up here to get involved, and start planning your festive outfit!
