Gas cylinder involved in fire at York home

Firefighters were called to a blaze involving an outbuilding which contained a flammable gas cylinder.

Crews from York and Acomb responded to the incident in York at 8.48pm.

A lean-to shed was on fire, attached to a home. It contained a propane cylinder.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The crews extinguished the fire and isolated the cylinder using two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and a positive pressure ventilation fan.”
