Police officers caught a gang stealing a moped in the act.
It happened on Marygate, following the arrest of a wanted man on the street on Sunday night.
That was carried out by inner and outer neighbourhood policing teams.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Later, another intervention occurred were the team encountered a group attempting to steal a moped.
“Following a brief chase, the group was apprehended, and one member was found in possession of additional drugs.
“Three further arrests were made.”
