Parents called the fire service to help after one child became locked inside their York home.
A crew went to help at Woodland Way, Huntington at 8.33pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from York responded to parents becoming locked out of their property after one child pulled the self locking door to, locking another child inside and them outside.
“Roof ladder used to access window and occupants able to re-enter premises.”
