A fire crew were called to an incident on a Malton shopping street early this morning (Friday).
The went to a store on Yorkersgate at 1.18am.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from Malton responded to reports of a smashed window in a retail premises with smoke billowing out.

“On arrival of crews this was found to be a security cloaking system that had activated when a window was smashed.
“Crews assisted by ventilating using a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke.”
