Firefighters respond to flood at York home

Firefighters were called to a flooded home in York this afternoon (Tuesday).

A crew from Huntington were called to a flat in New Earswick at 12.05pm.

The problem was caused by a water leak in the flat above.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews were able to isolate the water supply, gave advice to residents and left the incident in the hands of Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust maintenance team member.”
