A pigeon was in the middle of a race when it got caught in a net.
Fortunately the bird – or possible a well-wisher – phoned the fire brigade who went to the incident in Scarborough at 7.38pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from Scarborough rescued a pigeon from netting on a building.
“This was found to be a racing pigeon. Owner contacted and arrangements made for collection.”
