Firefighters rescue kitten stuck up a tree in York

It really does happen!

Firefighters rescued a kitten that got stuck up a tree today (Sunday).

An officer first went to Gascoigne Walk in York at 9.20am to see if the fire service could help with the stranded animal.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said they began by leaving food out to try to coax the kitten down.

But this didn’t work. So they went back a few hours later.

“Our Acomb appliance attended to assist the kitten out of the tree safely back to ground and its owner,” the spokesperson said.
