Firefighters came to the aid of a woman who had collapsed during birthday celebrations.
A York fire crew was returning from a collision in Stillington when they saw the woman on Micklegate at 8.11pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The York appliance came across a person collapsed in the street.
“The fire crew remained with the casualty – a female celebrating her 40th birthday – until an ambulance they had requested attended.”
