A fire was started deliberately in York last night (Tuesday).
Firefighters were called to the incident at Acomb Wood, off Ashbourne Way at 8.47pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Acomb appliance were mobilised to reports of a fire in a wooded area.
“Crews extinguished a small rubbish fire using backpack sprayers and shovels. The cause of the fire was deliberate.”
