Smoke was spotted emerging from a York pavement last night.
The fire service was brought in to investigate at 8.18pm.
They used a thermal imaging camera to investigate.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from York responded to reports of smoke coming from the pavement.
“After investigation, the smoke was coming from the cellar doors of a commercial building due to a blown 80 amp fuse.
