Firefighters were called to a fire in a York play area this afternoon (Thursday, 27 June).
A crew from Acomb responded to the incident, off Gale Lane, at 2.42pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “On arrival crews found the fire had been extinguished by a local member of the public who used a bucket of water. Crews gave advice.”
