Updated: Fake bank notes used in fraud at York post office

Police are investigating an incident of fraud at a York post office.

Counterfeit bank notes were used at the post office on Tadcaster Road at about 10.30am on Saturday 14 March.

Earlier, detectives investigating the incident issued an image.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers are keen to speak with the person shown in the CCTV image, as we believe that they will have information that could assist our investigation.”

They issued an update later which said: “We can confirm that she has now been identified and is assisting our enquiries.”
