Emergency services called to three-vehicle crash in York

A number of people were hurt in a crash in York yesterday evening (Wednesday).

It happened at around 5pm in Acomb.

Police, fire and ambulance crews went to the collision, which involved three vehicles.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “All persons were out prior to crews arrival.

“Our crews created a shelter using the triple exterior ladder and salvage sheet due to adverse weather conditions to shelter the casualties while they received treatment from ambulance staff.”

The casualties were taken to hospital. The incident was left in the hands of police and highways staff who cleaned oil and fuel from the road.
