A person was rescued from the river in York last night.
They fell into to the River Ouse by accident, and a rescue operation was mounted at 3.16am.
Police, ambulance and fire crews all attended, along with the York Rescue Boat team.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from York, Acomb and Selby responded to a report from the police of a person in the river.
“The person had accidentally fallen into the river and had managed to pull themselves out of the water and hold onto railings to await rescue.
“Crews rescued the person using ladders and the incident was left with the police and ambulance service.”
York Rescue Boat posted: “Team called out to a person in the water in the River Ouse. Crew stood down on scene and casualty left in the care of police and ambulance.”
