Emergency services called to multiple vehicle crash near Selby

Emergency services were called to a multiple vehicle crash near Selby this afternoon.

Police, fire and ambulance crews went to the collision on Station Road, Carlton, at 4.09pm.

There are roadworks in the area, and one witness described it as “an accident waiting to happen”.

They asked why there were no warning signs of possible queuing traffic after the bridge.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Selby’s crew were requested by ambulance to assist with a road traffic collision involving multiple vehicles.

“All casualties were out on arrival of crews and in the care of paramedics.”
