Traffic in York is currently very busy, (1000am Saturday 23rd May), especially around the train station.
There are various events happening in the area, including at York Races, a planned March for the city centre and also there is the closure of the Holgate Road/ Blossom Street Junction. That is due to emergency electrical work, though diversions are via Dalton Terrace.
There are closed routes if you are travelling to the racecourse; from Bishopthorpe Road and South Bank End, therefore you have to enter via Tadcaster Road.
There are also disruptions to rail services since buses are replacing trains from York to Darlington due to engineering work. This is going on all Bank Holiday Weekend too. bringing extra coaches into the city centre around the station.
