Drivers, cyclists and bus users warned about York road closure

A road in York city centre will be shut for four days next week due to roadworks.

Coppergate will close from 9am on Monday 6 October to 4pm on Thursday 9 October.

It’s to allow Tarmac repair works outside number 8 Coppergate, the Coppergate Clinic.

City of York Council has written to businesses and residents along Coppergate to let them know what’s happening.

A council spokesperson said: “The work follows requests from local businesses and a series of recent visits to traders along Coppergate to discuss the issues.

“All businesses will be open as usual during the works and pedestrian access to the Coppergate Centre is not affected.

“Delays are expected, so please plan ahead and use public transport, walking and cycling where possible.”
