Police have issued an appeal after this morning’s crash which left a driver with serious injuries.
At 8.10am today (Tuesday), a vehicle transporter left Malton Road in York and hit a tree.
The driver of the vehicle was airlifted to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
The road remained closed in both directions from the Toby Carvery (Hopgrove Lane South) to the A1237 roundabout for several hours.
It has been reopened since the complex recovery operation of the vehicle transporter was completed.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We’re appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact us.”
