Two-time RuPaul’s Drag Race winner, comedian, award-winning actress, and Broadway star Jinkx Monsoon is coming to York.
Jinkx will unveil her new comedy and concert show Speaking of Witch with a tour across the UK this summer – which includes a date in York.
Written and directed by Monsoon, Speaking of Witch promises an evening with ‘the O.G. Jinkx’ that’s cackle-inducing, unfiltered, intimate, and supremely bewitching.
She holds nothing back as she blends stand-up comedy, storytelling, and live musical performances. From recent adventures in dating, sex and courtship; to the fun and unexpected welcomes to womanhood, Jinkx will give audiences the inside scoop on being a perma-stoned trans drag queen from America, in 2026.
Jinkx Monsoon – Speaking of Witch is at York Barbican on Friday 10 July 2026.
Joined by her band Major Scales & The Badlings, each musical performance will punctuate the chapters of her life with their signature grunge piano bar stylings, covering deep cuts and B-sides from artists like Laufey, Madeline, Sparks – as well as some newer originals from her upcoming EP.
Monsoon said, “The last three years have been a hell of a time and I’ve crammed in a lot of living at the end of the world.
“Most days start with one witch hunt or another, and it’s no wonder we’re on edge. Speaking of witch, did I mention I was one? Let’s unpack this conundrum together and see if we can conjure a protection charm through laughter.
“If you’ve seen me in my more formal settings, or you’ve never seen me at all – now’s your chance to get the original Jinkx Monsoon experience. Me, you, a microphone and some music. That’s all I need to make magic.”
Monsoon first garnered an international fan base following her win on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 5 in 2013, and continued her winning streak on RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 7 in 2022 where she was crowned ‘Queen of All Queens.’
Jinkx is no stranger to the stage – with starring roles on Broadway in shows like like Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors, Pirates! The Penzance Musical, and the Tony Award winning hit play Oh, Mary!
She is also known for her performance as the villainous Maestro in Doctor Who.
Speaking of Witch marks Monsoon’s first solo tour across the UK since 2022. The tour will follow Monsoon’s off-West End run as Judy Garland in Peter Quilter’s End of the Rainbow.
Tickets for Jinkx Monsoon – Speaking of Witch at York Barbican start from £50.95 and available here.
