Firefighters tackled a fire stared deliberately next to a North Yorkshire road last night (Thursday).
They were called to the fire near to the A170 at Scarborough at 9.32pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Both crews from Scarborough responded to a large fire in a wooded area well alight which was spreading to nearby hedges.
“This was believed to had been started deliberately.
“Crews extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets with one appliance used to collect and ferry water from a nearby hydrant.”
