A serious crash closed the A19 in North Yorkshire this morning (Thursday).
It was near Thirkleby in the Thirsk area,
At 8.16am, North Yorkshire Police said: “We are at the scene of a serious collision on the A19 between the turn-offs to Thirkleby and Hutton Sessay.

“The road is closed in both directions.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use an alternative route at this time.”
At 10.49am, police said the road had reopened.
