Firefighters were scrambled to a incident near York early this morning (Tuesday).
The callout to a home in Bishopthorpe came in at 12.05am.
Crews from York and Acomb, along with Acomb’s aerial ladder platform, responded to the smell of burning on the top floor of a residential building.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews carried out a thermal inspection using a thermal imaging camera and found no signs of fire.
“The cause of burning was discovered as cooking fumes from a downstairs flat. Crews gave advice.”
