This fearsome looking weapon was discovered by children in York.
The machete was handed into police, who are now investigating.
The children were playing in the St Nick’s Field nature reserve when they discovered the large knife.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We are thankful no one was harmed and commend the children for promptly reporting it.
“Officers have safely removed the weapon and are investigating how it got there. If you have any information, please contact us immediately and use job number 12240130774.
