Updated: Two people taken to hospital after three-vehicle crash in York

Emergency services went to a crash in York this afternoon.

They were called to a three-vehicle crash on Malton Road, close to the Elmfield Avenue junction, at 12.38pm.

A driver told YorkMix that the road was closed in both directions and police were diverting traffic.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews released one casualty from one of the vehicles and handed them into the care of paramedics to be transported to hospital.

“Crews made all vehicles safe and left the incident with the police.”

A Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received an emergency call at 12.38pm on Monday lunchtime to report a collision on Malton Road, York.

“Two ambulances were dispatched to the scene and two patients were conveyed to York Hospital.”
