A 16-year-old boy has been seriously injured in a crash in Scarborough early this morning (Saturday).
It happened on Seamer Road, near the Hyundai Garage. A a red Citroën C1 crashed into a telegraph pole.
The 16‑year‑old boy, who was a passenger in the vehicle, remains in a serious condition.
Crash location
A 17‑year‑old boy has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences and is currently in police custody.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The road was closed until around 7am to allow for a full investigation of the scene and recovery of the vehicle.
“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time.”
