A body has been found in the River Foss in York.
Emergency services are in the process of recovering the body from the river near Fishergate in York.
A member of the public contacted police at 4.30pm today (Saturday 6 April) to report a sighting of a body in the water.
Police, Fire and Rescue services and the Yorkshire and Humberside Underwater Search Unit are currently working together to recover the body from the water.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the person’s identity.
