A new gaming shop is set to open in York this month.
Rocket’s Hideout will be opening its doors at 11 Micklegate, York, on Saturday 18 July.
The independent, family-run business specialises in Pokemon trading card games – as well as other games including Warhammer, Magic The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Dungeons & Dragons.
It will open in what was previously York estate agent business, Humberts.
This is the first expansion for Rocket’s Hideout, with its flagship store in Selby. The business was founded by Lee Glenn and first established in 2021.
“What started as a small trading card store in Selby has grown thanks to an incredible community of collectors, players, families and supporters,” they wrote on social media.
“We’re excited to be taking the next step.”
Similar to its current Selby store, the new York location will feature a huge stock of Pokemon trading cards, as well as other games, accessories, trade-ins, weekly game nights and community events.
Rocket’s Hideout prides itself on being a ‘community built by collectors, for collectors’, and aims to continue building that community here in York.
The trading card game shop will open on Saturday 18 July from 10am.
