Tractor catches fire on narrow road near York

Fire crews were called to a tractor on fire in a narrow road near York last night.

Crews from York and Acomb went to the incident on Upper Helmsley Road, Sand Hutton at 10.56pm.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets, two sets of breathing apparatus and lamps.

“The incident was then left in the hands of a responsible person.”
