A major York road has fully reopened after a car fire engulfed the carriageway in smoke.
It happened on the A64 between Grimston Bar and Fulford today (Thursday).
The whole road was closed for a while York firefighters tackled the blaze. One lane reopened by 5pm, and the rest of the road was cleared later.
The incident caused long tailbacks, which have now been cleared. Fortunately, no one was injured.
