Police seek Jaguar driver after hit-and-run near Helmsley

A motorbike rider needed hospital treatment after being involved in a hit-and-run crash near Helmsley.

It happened on the B1257 Oswaldkirk Bank at 11.10am on Sunday (28 July).

A black Jaguar 4×4 and blue Yamaha motorbike were both travelling in the direction of Helmsley when the crash happened.

The driver of the Jaguar did not stop at the scene. The motorcyclist required treatment in hospital following the collision.

The road was closed for several hours to allow investigation work to take place.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We’re appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the vehicles prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact us.”
