A group of York-based model railway and modelling businesses are joining forces for a special open day on Monday 4th May, giving visitors the chance to see layouts, displays, model-making products and specialist stock in person.
The event is hosted by Model Railway Magic Ltd, the York business behind Train Trax UK and The Model Tree Shop, at its HQ in Stockton on the Forest. The company will be open from 11am to 5pm for visitors to meet the team, see working model railway displays, browse stock and learn more about the hobby.
The day will also feature contributions from other local and specialist modelling organisations, including JS Models, York Modelmaking, and the Yorkshire Area Group of the N Gauge Society. EH Gaming is also supporting the event by allowing the use of its premises.
Visitors will be able to see Train Trax’s office layout and test track running throughout the day, alongside displays of Hex-TRAK and T-TRAK modules. There will also be Kato N gauge and HO gauge items on display, together with a much wider selection of trees from The Model Tree Shop than can usually be taken to exhibitions.
JS Models will be bringing a selection of its laser-cut wooden building kits, while nearby York Modelmaking will also be opening its doors, giving visitors the chance to see its range of laser-cut modelling and building detailing items. The Yorkshire Area Group of the N Gauge Society will provide a display of T-TRAK modules.
