Join Soon Amore Choir for an atmospheric summer concert at York Cemetery Chapel on Sunday 12 July 2026 at 5pm.
This special evening performance will take audiences on a musical journey from sunrise to starlight, celebrating the changing moods and beauty of day and night through choral music and poetry.
Performed mainly a cappella, with occasional piano accompaniment and a selection of short poems woven throughout the programme, the concert promises a rich and varied mix of music in the unique setting of York Cemetery Chapel. The programme includes works by celebrated composers including Eric Whitacre, Morten Lauridsen and Gerald Finzi, alongside original compositions written by members of the choir themselves.
From the energy and optimism of dawn to the calm and wonder of evening skies, the concert explores themes of nature, rest, dreams and reflection through expressive and uplifting choral singing.
Set within the peaceful and historic surroundings of York Cemetery Chapel, this promises to be a memorable summer evening for lovers of music, poetry and beautiful spaces alike.
