Clown Space: An Introduction to Clowning
Clown Space are back for more Clowning, and we can’t wait! This three-day course is perfect for performers, directors, movers, or anyone looking to become a more playful, fearless, and confident creative. Clowning is a great way to discover a lightness and ease that we can bring to any rehearsal room or project, and a joyful approach to performance that celebrates play, connection and joy. Through games, exercises and improvisations, you’ll explore the fundamentals of Clown. Solo and ensemble work will sharpen rhythm, physicality, and connection with each other and the audience. No previous experience is necessary – just a curiosity and a willingness to play! This course is led by James Lewis-Knight, Artistic Director of Clown Space (est. 2017), a theatre company specialising in Clown, Full Mask, and Physical Theatre.
