Police are investigating allegations that a bin wagon reversed into woman pushing her child in a pushchair.
The incident is said to have happened on Thursday 16 May at 12.10pm.
North Yorkshire Police said: “A blue and orange refuse wagon is reported to have reversed into Cleveland Road, Scarborough and made contact with a female pushing her young child in a pushchair.
“A male passer-by has shouted at the driver and caused him to stop.
“Do you have any information which would assist North Yorkshire Police in finding this male responsible and help keep your community safe?
“Did you or anyone living you live with , hear or see anything around the above time and location and date?
“Do you have any CCTV/ mobile phone footage capturing the offence, or anything happening before or after?”
