A young girl was assaulted in York city centre and police are appealing for witnesses.
It happened on the corner of St Leonards Place and Museum Street at around 11.20am on Saturday, July 9.
Police say the incident “involved an assault against a small female child and was followed by an incident of disorder between two adult males”.
A man has been arrested and bailed pending further enquiries.
A police spokesman said:
We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
In particular, we are appealing for information about the assault and the following disorder.
