Looking for somewhere new for lunch, brunch, dinner and cocktails?

Solita Bar & Grill is due to open soon in York, and it’s promising all of the above and more.

It’s replacing The Old House restaurant, which opened on Low Petergate in February.

That was brought to York by Hull-based food and drink group Shoot The Bull. Earlier this year, it acquired the Solita brand, started in Manchester, and it is now rolling it out in York.

Solita is short for ‘South of Little Italy’, and the concept combines the flavours and styles of New York and Italy.

Diners can expect menus “packed with creative and decadent wagyu burger creations, wings, steaks, cocktails and so much more”.

Big appetites required

All the burgers are made with wagyu beef, and include the Manc-Hattan – ‘Manchester meets Manhattan’. It combines two 4oz patties, pastrami, black pudding, Lancashire cheese and Coney Island mustard mayo, price £14.50.

The Big Manc is for big appetites. This one serves up four 4oz patties, onions, house pickles, Monterey Jack cheese and Big Manc sauce – price £17.50.
