Issued by City of York Council
City of York Council will carry out reconstruction works on part of Tranby Avenue in Osbaldwick from Monday 5 August.
The works are programmed to take approximately four weeks in total to complete, working Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm.
To carry out the works safely, a road closure will be necessary. A signed diversion route will operate for local and through traffic. The road closure will remain in place at all times (over a 24hr period) including weekends.
Due to the nature of the works and the deep excavations taking place, it will not always be possible for residents to gain vehicular access to their properties. In these circumstances residents are asked to use alternative parking.
Bus services will be diverted via Osbaldwick Link Road in both directions for the full duration of the closures. Please call 01904 551400 for bus route information.
Pedestrian access will be available at all times. Cyclists will have to dismount and use the footways when travelling through the affected areas.
As with any construction work, there is likely to be a certain amount of disruption and inconvenience, but everything reasonably possible will be done to keep this to a minimum. However, motorists should expect some delays and are advised to plan their journey accordingly.
