Following the appeal to find a woman and her young child in York, a woman has been identified.
The 29 year old woman was arrested in connection with the incident on Thursday morning (November 3) and she remains in police custody.
Police thanked the members of the public who came forward with information.

York police issue CCTV of mother after concerns raised for two-year-old child
Police are appealing for help to identify a woman after a member of the public expressed concerns for the young child in her care.
The mother and child were seen with a second woman, whose identity is also sought, at the corner of Feasegate and Parliament Street at 11pm on Monday (October 31).
The child was placed in a buggy by the mother and the second woman. The second woman then left in the direction of Davygate as the mother and child went down Parliament Street and continued on to Piccadilly.
A force spokeswoman said:
They are requesting the public’s assistance to help identify the parties involved and to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
In particular, we are appealing to anyone who thinks they may know who the mother, child, or female friend to come forward.

The child, believed to be a girl, is described as white with dark hair and about two years old.
The second woman is described as white, of average height, and slim. She had shoulder length light brown hair and was dressed in a dark coat with collar, dark dress, and dark coloured heels.
