If you’ve been lucky enough to catch young York rock band Bull you’ll already know there’s something special going on.

Songwriter and vocalist Tom Beer with Dan Lucas (lead guitar), Rory Welbrock (bass) and Louis Edge (drums) deliver some of the catchiest hook-laden tunes you’ll hear in a long while.

Their recent Fibbers show was a revelation. They’re next seen in York on Thursday, February 20 at the Golden Ball. It’s free, with donations welcomed for The Pilgrimage Trust.

Meanwhile, here’s vid of their just-released single, Green.

You can download the track for 60p on their Bandcamp page, and catch more of them at Soundcloud.

Some bands are messed-up. And some bands are, ahem, just messy, as Bull prove with their track, Newt, from last year.

Buddhist blitz

Heading to Fibbers this Valentine’s Night are London band Buddhist Punkz.

They got in touch with YorkMix to say that the gig on Friday (February 14) was to help promote the release of their single No Shame which is available for free download here.

What sort of music do they play? “Our influences are based around old skool hip hop, rock, punk, metal and UK urban music,” says the band’s Dave Budgen.
