A York man has been charged with cannabis production after police seized several plants and growing equipment from a house in the Tang Hall area.
Officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team executed a warrant under the misuse of drugs act on the morning of Friday 12 April 2013 at a property on Tuke Avenue.
They seized 17 large cannabis plants and growing equipment including lamps and fertilizer.
A man in his fifties was arrested in connection with the find and has been charged with production of cannabis. He is due to appear at York Magistrates’ Court on 3 May 2013.
Sergeant Andy Godfrey of York Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “Local officers are very pro-active in the area and are committed to reducing crime and anti-social behaviour in the city.
“Members of the public should not hesitate to contact us if they suspect anything suspicious is taking place in their neighbourhood. Please tell us and we will take action.”
