Two fire crews tackled a fire in a launderette late last night (Tuesday).

The firefighters, from Acomb, were called out to the business on Boroughbridge Road at 10.06pm.

North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said: “Crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and one thermal imaging camera to locate and extinguish the fire.

“Crews then cleared the smoke from the building using a positive pressure ventilation fan.”

No one was hurt.
