A business situated in the heart of ancient York is helping children 4,500 miles away in mountainous Nepal.
David Harris and his team at Genius IT Solutions in Shambles have joined forces with PassoDopoPasso who help promote and provide disaster relief and humanitarian support to Nepalese schoolchildren.
David was looking to support a charity through his business. So he took the opportunity presented by a visit to Nepal, inspired by his new-found love of the mountains, to find a worthy project.
One of the main focuses of PassoDopoPasso is the children of Khaniyakharka School located in the Nuwakot District of Nepal. They are victims of the devastation and suffering wrought by the 2015 earthquake.
Through a combination of the construction of a new school and ongoing support, the children of the school are able to enjoy their education again.
David said: “It’s clear through their smiles and laughter that they are indeed very grateful for the support.”
