A woman is due to appear in court next month, charged in connection with a racially-aggravated York attack which caused a furore on social media.
On 9 June, a man was walking his dog on Hob Moor when he and his dog were attacked.
Video of the incident was widely shared on social media at the time.
A woman, 51, was arrested at an address in York at 2.25pm on Wednesday 10 June, a day after the incident took place.
Today (Tuesday), police said she has been charged with
- racially aggravated assault and harassment of the dog owner
- causing unnecessary suffering to an animal by allegedly kicking the dog.
The woman, who is from the York area, is due at York Magistrates’ Court next month.
