North Yorkshire Police are appealing for information after a serious collision between Strensall and Sheriff Hutton.

It occurred at around 11.45pm on Thursday 19 September 2013, on Sherriff Hutton Road, near Sheriff Hutton Bridge.

The collision involved a silver Volvo V40, heading towards Strensall, which left the road before hitting a tree and a parked car.

The driver, a 40-year-old man from Strensall, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with serious head and chest injuries, where he currently remains.

The road was closed for five hours following the collision.

Traffic Constable Graham Waller, of North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group, said: “If you have any information that could help us to progress the investigation into this collision, or may have seen the Volvo just prior to the incident, I urge you to come forward and contact the police straight away.”

Anyone who can help officers with this enquiry is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Graham Waller. Alternatively information can be emailed to [email protected], quoting reference number 12130163193.
