North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue has been called in to deal with a boat adrift in the fast flowing River Ouse in York this Friday evening.
It’s reported to have been carried down stream from Skeldergate to Millennium Bridge.
The river has been rising due to heavy rain.
Two people passing by, Marcus and Louise, told YorkMix that they saw it slip its mooring outside the King’s Arms, spin around and then float sideways to Skeldergate Bridge.
They alerted the Police and Fire service and the York Rescue Boat was launched as well as the Fire service boat. The drifting cruiser was safely guided to the bank and two people on board are safe.
Video clips have been tweeted of the rescue operation.
