Police would like the van driver to come forward

A transit van was hit by a stolen car in York – and police are urging the van driver to come forward.

The van was struck by a stolen red Mazda 3 in Wigginton in the early hours of Tuesday (February 14).

The driver of the stolen car did not stop at the scene, and the police are now trying to trace the van and driver.

A 33-year-old man from Great Ouseburn has been arrested in connection with the stolen Mazda. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

If you are the driver of the van, or have any information, please contact police.
