Thieves have struck at a city centre shop.

They broke into The Whisky Shop in the Coppergate Centre through a window panel.

At least seven bottles of alcohol have been taken including whisky, gin, bourbon and rum.

A North Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said there were no arrests at this stage, adding:

  • It appears a glass panel had been removed by the suspects to enable them to gain entry.

The break-in was reported by Coppergate security staff at 6.34am
